The former Burger King in Newton Abbot town centre will be offered at Charles Darrow Network Auctions’ next sale.
The two-storey, period-styled property at Unit 2, 39-43 Queen Street was previously let to Burger King UK and was generating an annual rental income of £40,000 a year. It has a guide price of £250,000.
Paul Heather, director of Charles Darrow Network Auctions, said: “We understand that Burger King had already taken the decision to discontinue their lease on the premises prior to the national lockdown in March, but the Covid-19 pandemic has expedited their decision to vacate.
“This was one of the last remaining High Street, Burger King restaurants in Devon, but with low commercial vacancy rates in Newton Abbot and unexpectedly high market demand for restaurant units in the town centre, this opportunity is likely to prove to be a sound investment for someone.
“We are already experiencing significant interest in this Lot from both restaurant operators and property investors, so we expect some competitive bidding on the day.”
Charles Darrow Network Auctions’ next online public auction will be from 10am on Thursday 11 February 2021, with remote bidding by proxy, telephone, and internet only.
