With the area’s reputation and population continuing to grow, it was no surprise the well-known Clock Tower Coffee Shop, situated with the pedestrianised sector of Wolborough Street, gained such a great amount of interest before being sold. The sale is the latest leasehold transaction to complete by market leading specialists Charles Darrow.
The business, opposite the Clock Tower, Austins Department store and the gateway to Courtenay Street, attracted a great amount of attention from a wide range of operators before being snapped up by the new owners. With the completion of the leasehold sale, it means the local buyers can take full advantage of the busy summer trade.
Being centrally positioned with the bustling Market Town, and benefitting from a great amount of footfall year-round, the café’s spacious ground floor trading area has customer seating for 40+ internally, and outside, the café has a pavement licence for a further 30+ covers which enjoys the late evening sun!
Clock Tower Cafe, which was a firm favourite in the town and enjoyed a strong daytime trade previously, is set for a subtle refurb to ensure the cafe is fresh to welcome guests this summer, with some new ideas being introduced in the coming months, which will no doubt be well received by the customer base of tourists and locals alike.
James Sanders Associate Director at Charles Darrow Commented: “The sale marks another leasehold transaction in the town and is a solid indication that Newton Abbot is still a very popular spot amongst buyers”
“The new owners’ ideas for the cafe will work well within the town, and I have no doubt business will flourish, I wish Lauren every success with her new venture, and looking forward to visiting soon”
