The South West is one of the strongest auction markets

The South West is one of the strongest auction markets in the country right now.
EIG’s latest figures for April to June put our region alongside Yorkshire as the top performer nationally. Nearly £166M raised across the South West, up 29% on last year. Lots offered up 32%. Lots sold up 30%.
The commercial numbers are the real story. Lots offered more than doubled year on year, and money raised is up 87%. Owners are choosing certainty over a slow private treaty market, and refinancing pressure is forcing decisions that were parked through 2024 and 2025.
On the residential side, the Renters’ Rights Act went live in May, and EIG suggest landlords are reviewing their portfolios as a result. We’re seeing the same on the ground. More stock is coming forward, and buyers can afford to be a bit more selective, which explains the slight dip in percent sold. That’s supply catching up with demand, not demand falling away.
If you own commercial or residential property in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset or Dorset and want a view on what it would make under the hammer, get in touch. Appraisals are free and without obligation.
