Reputed to date back to 825AD, The Cridford Inn is believed to be one of the oldest dwellings in Devon and was once a former Devon Longhouse. Having also served as a nunnery and a farm, it was remodelled in 1081 and is now a quintessential country pub, with a thatched roof, small windows (the transept window in the bar maybe the oldest in Britain), part wood panelled, and part exposed stone walls and slate floors throughout.

With cob walls, a thatched roof and inglenook fireplaces, this traditional Devon Longhouse is approached by passing over a babbling brook, guarded by Willy Catchum and his faithful girl Teresa Green.

The property briefly comprises ground floor lounge bar, restaurant, function room and commercial kitchen whilst on the first floor there are 4 quality en-suite bedrooms (as the clients live off site). Externally there is a shared (mostly owned) car park and ample seating by way of a slated terrace and stream side beer garden.
