Prince William Continues To Reign After Speedy Sale

Prince William Continues To Reign After Speedy Sale

Posted: Tuesday 28 May 2019

In the build-up to what should be another busy tourism season in South Devon, one of the area’s most popular venues has just completed a speedy sale. Brixham’s outstanding harbourside bar and restaurant, The Prince William, has been snapped up off an asking price of £120,000 for the leasehold concern.

Fast sale for local operator

With the venue attracting both locals and tourists, and the sale marks the first time the business has changed hands in 15 years.

Sold on behalf of long-standing publicans, Mr and Mrs Wakefield, The Prince William benefitted from an active marketing campaign which saw a large amount of very early interest, with the new purchasers formally viewing the premises just 24 hours after the search had commenced for a buyer. Terms were then quickly agreed, with the transaction completing within eight weeks of taking instructions – who says the property market is challenging!

Stunning marina views

Located right on Brixham harbour, a short walk from Berry Head, The Prince William enjoys a brisk trade throughout the year. With a deserved reputation for excellent food and daily carveries, together with bar snacks and full bar, its new owners are keen to keep the momentum going.

The spacious open-plan bar and restaurant covering some 1,900 sq. ft has seating for over 100 diners internally, with the large patio area comfortably seating a further 80. Thanks to its stunning marina setting and views over Brixham and beyond, it is no wonder the purchasers, The Greenway Group LTD moved quickly to secure the business.

The future is guaranteed

The Greenway Group, who run a number of businesses in the local area, are only too aware of the further potential the site continues to have and there’s no doubt The Prince William will see continued success for many years to come.

James Sanders, Associate Director at Charles Darrow who handled the sale commented: “The Prince William is a local favorite, with a regional following in a spectacular marina setting and we were not surprised at all that terms were agreed swiftly. The Greenway Group secured the business in record time and were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, and we wish them well for their new venture.
