Moretonhampstead’s “Hidden Gem” Sells

Posted: Wednesday 9 May 2018

Commercial property specialist Charles Darrow is delighted to announce the sale of The Old Post House in Moretonhampstead, a popular guest house lying on the edge of Dartmoor.

The property, which had previously been on the market with a different agent for some 18 months, was snapped up by the purchasers once the property hit the open market with Charles Darrow.

The business, which sold off an asking price of over £400,000 for the freehold interest, had previously been owned by Steve & Zoe Williams for over 15 years, who are very much looking forward to enjoying their motorhome a little more!

Charles Darrow introduced the new purchasers to the property following a spell of significant interest, which resulted in multiple offers being received before terms were agreed.

James Sanders, Associate Director at Charles Darrow commented: “Whilst there are still areas of uncertainty in the market place, guest houses remain a favorite with buyer’s which was evident with the level of interest in this lovely, rural guest house.”

“The Old Post House is not only a base to explore the delights that Dartmoor has to offer, but is also only 30 minutes away from Exeter, making this a perfect venue for all nature of visits”

“The new owners, Mr & Mrs Carling are very much looking forward to immersing themselves in the beautiful scenery that surrounds Moretonhampstead, along with putting their own stamp on this popular guest house.”
